I am one of those people who are lucky enough to live in Applecross. It is the best location in Perth, and I love being a 15 minute train and walk from the city, a 30 minute bus ride to Fremantle and five minutes from the river. But one of the best things about living in Applecross is the wonderful fact that I am within walking distance to Applecross Village on Ardross Street. The words ‘Ardross Street’ most commonly refer to the little gathering of shops between Macdonald Road and Kintail Road in Applecross.

Mt Lawley is a wealthy inner city suburb located approximately 4 kilometres north of the Perth CBD. It is a grand old suburb whose heritage homes and mansions display the architecture of yesteryear, and whose avenues are tree lined with the blooms of the beautiful flowering Jacarandas during late spring. From rambling homes to pristine, manicured gardens, the suburb is only a step away from a bustling cafe strip. Its traditional grid structure makes it easy to navigate, just remember the avenues, Beaufort Street and Walcott Street, and you should be able to orientate yourself quite easily.

Maylands - an inner city suburb located on the eastern side of Perth, is approximately 4 kilometres from the Perth CBD. Its local café strip on Eighth Avenue has seen interesting changes over the last few years, and has been transformed from a relatively quiet area to a bustling and thriving café strip.
Eighth Avenue offers an interesting and eclectic mix of retail shops and eateries. Browsing the strip, you’ll find restaurants offering tasty culinary delights from all over the world, trendy cafes, specialised retail shops, and essential services.
The café strip receives a steady stream of visitors as commuters make their way to the nearby Maylands train station, located at the end of Eighth Avenue. If you are standing on the corner of Whatley Crescent and Eighth Avenue, and cast your eyes over the tracks past the Maylands train station, you’ll spot a lovely looking heritage building of Edwardian style.
