Here is Perth Walkabout's Monthly Wrap for the month of February:

Review of Xavier Toby – White Trash at the Perth Fringe Festival 2013

My partner and I headed out to the Perth Fringe Festival on Thursday night to check out Xavier Toby's comedy act, titled White Trash. With its focus on racism amongst ourselves, our family and friends, and Australia as a whole, I was interested to see how Xavier would tackle this touchy topic while still attempting to get a laugh from the audience.

Last night my partner and I were fortunate enough to snag a couple of seats for Circus Ronaldo's performance of La Cucina dell'Arte as part of the Perth Festival for 2013.

The shows have been selling out, so we weren't surprised to find a large mass of people milling around before the show opened in Russell Square at 8pm.

While waiting for the show to begin, the crowd was serenaded by a busking didgeridoo player, whose stone-age sound contrasted nicely with the Renaissance style art of the Circus Ronaldo billboarding.

Dominique-Pratt-150

With our beach culture in Perth, swimming is a popular activity for most of us, whether it is at our local pool, the Swan River or the ocean. Dominique provides inspiration to others to live a healthy lifestyle and is certainly a fantastic role model when it comes to keeping active every day - not a day goes by without Dominique making time out of her hectic work schedule to have a swim at her local pool.

My partner asked me to accompany her to watch the premiere of Elles at Luna Cinemas. I hadn't got around to reading the synopsis of the film beforehand, so I started watching with no idea of what was to come other than my partner's brief comment that it involved a female journalist and was rated R due to sex scenes. As a typical red-blooded guy, I figured that at least there would be a bit of eye candy to look at even if the film was not to my taste.

As it turns out, I got things the wrong way around.
